So I found something interesting, even though Java 1.6.0.x and Java 1.5.0.x has reached it end of life cycle, (Oracle is pushing version 1.7.0.x latest is build 65) but as part of my oracle support, Oracle does release security updates for Java 1.6 and 1.5.
The current version of Java 1.6 is 1.6.0_81 (now 2017-11-11 1.6.0_171)
(last available version via regular oracle web site was _45)
The current version of Java 1.5 is 1.5.0_71
(last available version via regular oracle web site was _22)
Patch numbers on my oracle support are : for Java 1.6 #9553040
for Java 1.5 #9477224
now 2017-11-11 Oracle is pushing version 1.7.0.x latest is build 161

Gaffen there is a security issue with JDK 1.6.0_65 which has been fixed but not distributed. Paul will have the latest details.
yip I know ... waiting for the next oracle support release _72.
Do you know if the issue is fixed with _71 ?
I know that _65 has issues with threadpoolworker and genappvieweritems on Linux.
